LIBERTY, Mo. – Freshman Antoinette Mussorici scored 33 points in 34 minutes and the William Jewell Cardinals denied the Truman Bulldogs their 20
th win of the season with a 86-72 win on Thursday night.

Truman's (19-5; 10-4 GLVC) only lead in the contest came in the first minute but then the Cardinals (12-10; 6-8 GLVC) took over and frustrated the Bulldogs all night.

Mussorici scored 19 points in the first half on 7-of-9 shooting and finished with 33 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. Jewell knocked down 11 three-pointers and was 17-of-18 from the free throw line. The 33 points by an opposing player were the most allowed by the Bulldogs this season and since the 2015-16 campaign when Princess Germain of Indianapolis tallied 32. Sydney Offield scored 19 points with five three-pointers and four of the five starters for the Cardinals played over 30 of the 40 minutes.

Sloane Totta led Truman with 17 points and
Maddie Re and
Rachel Edmundson both added 13. Truman put up a season high 32 three-pointers, nearly half of their field goal attempts, and made 10. However, the Bulldogs only went to the line eight times with six makes. They were outrebounded 37-27 with
Allison Thomas grabbing a team-high 13 on the night.

The Bulldogs head a few miles south down the interstate to Rockhurst for a 1 p.m. game with the Hawks on Saturday afternoon. Rockhurst had a convincing 81-67 win over Quincy in their Thursday night game.
