RECAP: Bellarmine Completes Sweep Over Truman Baseball

Box Score

LOUISVILLE – Truman's Mason King went 2-for-2 with a double and was on base all three times but unfortunately had two of the Bulldogs three hits total in a 12-0 loss in the series finale to the Bellarmine Knights on Sunday. Truman returns home to host Indianapolis for their final home conference series on Friday and Saturday.

King led off the game with his double but the Bulldogs stranded two on. The Knights capitalized on a pair of hit batsmen in their half of the first as both came around to score for the 2-0 lead.

King got a one-out single in his next at bat then swiped second but was stranded in scoring position. Bellarmine added a single run in the bottom of the third.

Bellarmine broke things open with five in the fourth. They would out hit Truman 16-3.

King walked in the fifth, which was his 100th career walk having already secured the Bulldog career record in bases on balls.

Alex Phillips struck out nine and issued two walks to pick up his third win of the season for Bellarmine.
