RECAP: Bulldogs Fall To Flyers In Season Finale

Box Score

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis Flyers grounded the Truman Baseball team 4-1 in the series and season finale for the Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon.

Holden Missey went 2-for-4 and finished his first season as a Bulldog as the team leader in average at .326 with seven doubles and 19 RBI. He was involved in the only Truman run in the seventh inning. Trailing 4-0, Mason King and Adam Stolley each drew walks and forced a pitching change. Missey greeted the new hurler on the first pitch by singling up the middle to load the bases.

Evan Kayser, looking for his team leading seventh home run, flied out to left for the sac fly.

Lewis got their runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to win the series 2-1.

King ended his four-year Truman career by playing in 174 games and finishing with a .260 average, a school-record 105 bases on balls and ranked in the Truman career charts in stolen bases with 47 (3rd) and career at bats with 599 (9th).

Pitchers Josh Woodmansee, who tossed a scoreless inning on Saturday, and Tanner Forck also concluded their Bulldog careers.
