Box Score (HTML)

QUINCY, Ill. – The Truman Women's Basketball team earned the season sweep and extended their winning streak to seven over the Quincy Lady Hawks on Monday night with a 64-57 victory.

Eight of the nine players for Truman (11-4; 7-1 GLVC) that played also scored led by Hannah Belanger's 14 points and Sloane Totta's 12. Maddie Re matched her career-high with 16 rebounds.

The Bulldogs got off to a slow start as Quincy (6-10; 2-6 GLVC) scored the first five and led for the entire first quarter. Tiffany Davenport started the three-point barrage for the Bulldogs in the second quarter when her three tied the game at 17 apiece. Katie Jaseckas keyed a triple to put Truman on top 20-19 with 6:02 left before half.

The onslaught from outside continued with triples consecutively from Belanger, Katey Klucking and Totta to give Truman a 31-22 advantage. Truman would make six of nine three-point attempts in the second quarter and went to the locker room leading 38-28 on Jaseckas' second bomb of the quarter.

The lead swelled to as many as 15 in the third before the Lady Hawks chipped away. Alexa Low scored with 2:23 to play and the lead was down to six at 60-54. Belanger and Davenport would be perfect from the line to protect the advantage down the stretch.

The Bulldogs hit eight total threes on the night (26.7%) and were 38.5% overall from the floor. Re added nine points, Klucking and Jasekcas had eight each and Davenport finished with seven.

Low led the Lady Hawks with 14 points and nine rebounds.

The seventh straight wins over Quincy matches the longest by any team in the all-time series. Quincy won seven straight between 1987 through 1989.

Truman will continue the three-game road trip on Thursday night at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
