KIRKSVILLE, Mo- Katie Jaseckas and Maddie Re both had big nights to help the Truman Women's Basketball team prevail over the Hawks of Rockhurst University 85-75. The Bulldogs are now 14-4 and 10-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and now have won 10 or more league games in 10 straight years.Â

Jaseckas had a season-high 22 points as Maddie Re also had a season-high 19 in the win. This victory moves the Bulldogs to a 14-4 overall and 10-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Truman jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter shooting 50 percent from the field as they outscored the Hawks 19-14. Rockhurst came alive in the second quarter shooting 52.9 percent from the field on 9-of-17 shooting. The Bulldogs went on a 9-4 run late in the quarter behind the sharpshooting from Katey Klucking and Jaseckas which extended their lead 41-37 going into the half. Klucking would finish the half with eight points on 3-of-6 shooting from the field and 2-of-5 from behind the arc. Jaseckas finished the half with nine points shooting a perfect 4-of-4 from the field.Â

Truman would extend their lead to six points late in the third quarter after a quick 6-2 run. With 7:04 to go in the game, Rockhurst went on a 7-2 run to make it a 68-65 ball game. The Bulldogs would finish the half with a 17-12 run shooting 7-of-9 from the field to seal the 85-75 victory.

Jaseckas led Truman with a season-high 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting. Re also had a season-high 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting while adding seven rebounds to her stat line. Sloane Totta finished the night with 13 points, five rebounds, and seven dimes. Tiffany Davenport had nine points off the bench on 4-of-5 shooting.Â

Truman shot 58.3 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from three-point range. The team also added 18 assists in the win.Â
Madeline Ronshausen led the Rockhurst University Hawks (9-10; 3-8 GLVC) with 22 points as Maddy Grennes finished with 16.

The Bulldogs will be at home on Saturday at 1 p.m. as they will take on the William Jewell Cardinals for the second time this season. Truman defeated the Cardinals in early January.
