Box Score (PDF)

ST. LOUIS – Katie Jaseckas scored 25 points and Maya Mouton grabbed a key late offensive rebound as the Truman State Women's Basketball team escaped Maryville University with a 67-62 victory.

The Bulldogs led by 20 at the half, 36-16 but had to withstand a second half onslaught by Maryville for the win. The Saints outscored the Bulldogs 23-10 in the third quarter with Katey Klucking's half court buzzer-beating three providing a huge momentum swing to end the period. The Saints finally clawed all the way back to tie the game on a three-pointer by Jayda Jansen with 3:37 left to play.

Truman would not let the Saints go on top as following some empty possessions by both teams, Tiffany Davenport found Jaseckas with a pass underneath and the Bulldogs jumped back in front for good at 59-57.

Maryville cut the lead back down to four with a minute to play but after a late shot clock three-point attempt by Jaseckas, Mouton snatched the offensive rebound and promptly buried both free throws after being fouled to extend the lead out to six points with 25 ticks showing.

Jaseckas followed her career-high 29 points in Maryville's Moloney Arena last time out with 25 on Thursday going 11-of-17 from the floor shooting. It was her 10th 20-point or more game of her career and second this season.

Davenport and Hannah Belanger each finished with 11 points apiece with Davenport dishing out eight assists. Ellie Weltha gobbled up 13 rebounds and Truman won the glass 47-29.

Antoinette Mussorici led Maryville with 18 points while Jansen and Hunter Stidham scored 17 each.

The Bulldogs move to 4-1 on the season and sets up a key contest on Sunday at home against the 5-1 Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles. Both teams are atop their respective divisions in the GLVC. Tip time is scheduled for 1p.m. and the game can be seen on the GLVC Sports Network or on 104.7 FM KRES radio.
