KIRKSVILLE, Mo.—The Truman Baseball team begins their fifth weekend of action this season and will playing their first home season of the year this weekend against Indianapolis. The series begins Saturday at noon with a doubleheader and then concludes Sunday at noon.
Over the weekend the Bulldogs dropped four at Lindenwood, which included two one run defeats. On Saturday Rian Markes had one of the best outings of his Bulldog career, throwing eight shutout innings and striking out six batters.
Steven Bradbury leads the team with 14 hits, including five against Lindenwood over the weekend. Four were doubles—including two in the series finale. He leads the team with a .311 average—which he raised by 21 points over the weekend.
Holden Missey leads the team in multiple categories, including homeruns with four, runs scored with 12, RBI with nine and total bases with 31. His four dingers are tied with two other players for second in the GLVC. He hit his first two triples of the season against the Lions over the weekend. He also started the first of two games Sunday, throwing a career high 6.2 innings. Missey ranks fourth in the conference in total bases with 31 and Bradbury is tied for seventh at 27.
Truman is fifth in the conference with 27 doubles, tied for fourth with four triples and eighth with 149 total bases.
The Opponent:
Indianapolis dropped their season opener against Hillsdale, but have won their last nine games. They took the second two from Hillsdale and then swept three from Notre Dame (Ohio) and then swept four from Oakland City. The Greyhounds were picked to finish seventh in the preseason poll this season after finishing 30-20 a season ago.
This season they are led by Trey Smith, who is tied for the team lead with 13 hits and leads the team with four homeruns, 16 RBI and is tied for second on the team with four doubles. He is one of five qualified players on the Greyhounds to be hitting over .300.
Myc Witty and Reid Werner both have 3-0 records, and have both thrown 17 innings so far this season. Witty carries a 1.59 ERA into the series and Werner is at 3.71.

The Bulldogs will be back on the road next weekend as they travel to Missouri-St. Louis to take on the Tritons in a three game set.
