RECAP: Bulldogs Bounce Back By Bouncing Jewell

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Women stormed out to another big lead and on Wednesday night and didn't take their foot off the accelerator in a 77-63 win over William Jewell. Katie Jaseckas had a perfect game for Truman State with 18 points and 13 rebounds as she didn't miss from the field in six attempts and four from outside.
 
The Bulldogs led 17-7 just six minutes into the contest and 33-11 after one quarter with a blistering field goal percentage. Truman was 6-of-7 from the field and 4-of-5 from long range.
 
The lead swelled to 19 points at half as Truman dropped in two more triples and was shooting over 60% from both outside and the field as well as dominating the glass 21-6.
 
Jewell provided a little spark to start the second half with a 7-0 run forcing an early timeout by coach Theo Dean. Ellie Weltha stemmed the tide with a three-point play en route to her career-high 16 points and added eight rebounds.
 
The Bulldogs would lead by as many as 27 points to end the third quarter.
 
Katey Klucking was the third Truman player in double-digits with 14 points on three treys. 
 
Kiara Bradley led the Cardinals with 17 points in a memorable night for the senior. Bradley went over the 1,000-point total for her career to become the 20th William Jewell player to hit that milestone. 
 
The Cardinals shot 37% from the field and made 10-of-31 three-point attempts. 
 
Truman will head to Springfield with a showdown with undefeated and perennial powerhouse Drury Lady Panthers on Saturday at 1 p.m.
