SAN SEBASTIAN, Spain--Mike Carlson has signed a future deal to play with Acunsa Gipuzkoa of the Spanish ACB, the highest tier of basketball in Spain. He played three years with the Bulldogs before starting his professional career with South West Metro in Brisbane, Australia; where he averaged 26.1 points per game.
He signed with CB Clavijo in Spain in the fall of 2014 and played two seasons there, averaging 10.7 and then 11.5 points per game. He signed with Gipuzkoa in the fall of 2016, where he set his pro career high with 31 points in a game against TAU Costello on December 2. He then signed with Ovieda Club Baloncesto in 2017.
After one season there he signed with Latina Basket in Italy in 2018, where he averaged a career high 16.5 points per game. After a year there he moved to Caserta in 2019. He's recorded seven double-doubles in his pro career, both in the last two seasons in Italy.
In three seasons as a Bulldog, Carlson averaged 16.2 points per game over 82 games, making 77 starts. His Senior season he was named third team All-American by Daktronics as he averaged 21.3 points per game--shooting .544 from the field and .404 from three point range. He also grabbed 7.2 rebounds per game and racked up 30 steals and blocks each that season. He also set the single game points record with 48 against Missouri S&T on January 30, 2014.
