Truman Grabs Team Title In Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Truman Women's Golf team won their first team event since the 2019 season as they came from one shot back to capture the Columbia College Invitational on Tuesday. Catherine Salem and Emily Ducaji both finished tied for third as individuals.

Truman shot 339 on Monday and was one stroke back of William Woods College and three in front of host Columbia. Salem fired an 82 that day with Ducaji two strokes behind with an 84. Kara Hunt (86), Maya Schnable (87) and Jordan Marshall (88) rounded out the Bulldog scoring.

Tuesday, Ducaji fired an 81 and Salem shot 83 to finish in a tie for third. They were each six shots behind the individual medalist from Columbia College in Emily Strunck (159). Hunt shot an 84 while Schnable and Marshall each carded an 87 to give Truman a 334 on the day. They leapfrogged over the Owls and finished two shots better than the Cougars for the team title.

The last team title was at the Park University Fall Classic in October of 2019.

The Bulldogs will be off next week as they prepare for their final fall tournament, the Midwest Intercollegiate, that will be contested at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg, Missouri.
