RECAP: Women Kicks Off Season With OT Win

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Faith Branson punched home the game winning in double-overtime to give the Truman Women's Soccer team a 1-0 season opening victory over Missouri S&T on Friday afternoon.
 
Branson's winner came off an assist by Anna Meyer with just 4:08 left to play in the second extra period.
 
Both teams hit numerous goal post in the match but Truman established control in the second half with 11 shots, four directed at goal in the final 45 minutes.
 
The Bulldogs outshot Missouri S&T 11-1 on shots on goal.
 
Beth Hopwood made the lone save in the first half to record the shutout.
 
Truman returns to action Sunday at Maryville University in St. Louis. Kickoff is slated for noon.
