QUINCY, Ill. - Goals by Emma McConnell, Hanna Hickey and Izzy Heintz plus a strong defensive effort by the Bulldog backline gave the Truman Women's Soccer team a 3-0 road win at Quincy on Sunday afternoon.
McConnell scored her goal of the season with under a minute to play in the first half to stake the 'Dogs up to a 1-0 lead.
Hickey added an insurance tally in the 67th minute for her second goal of the season. Six minutes later, Heintz found the net for the 3-0 advantage. It was Heintz's first goal of the season.
Truman outshot the Hawks 14-1 with a 9-1 advantage on shots on goal.
Beth Hopwood made the lone save in the first 45 minutes to record her second straight shutout of the year and third of the season.
The Bulldogs improve to 4-5 on the campaign and will be at William Jewell College on Saturday morning for a 10 a.m. match.
