KIRKSVILLE - Lindenwood's Katie Juhlin bounced a shot off the inside post of the goal and into the net 4:46 seconds into the first overtime period to give the Lions a 1-0 victory over Truman State on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs will be back in action at home on Sunday hosting Missouri-St. Louis.
The two teams played nearly dead even for the entire 90 minutes and four minutes prior to the goal. Lindenwood had a slight edge on shots on goal 4-3 and had five corner kicks to one for Truman.
The scoring play came when the ball got deep into the left side of the field and was crossed into the box. A scrum took place and Bailey Bologna popped the ball free to Juhlin, whose shot ricocheted off the post and in.
Truman falls to 1-2 on the season while Lindenwood improves to 3-0.
