QUINCY, Ill. - The Truman Women's Golf team finished third at the Quincy Invitational at the Quincy Country Club on Tuesday with a two-day total of 701 strokes. Natalie Fatka and Kara Hunt both had top 10 finishes for the Bulldogs in their final tune-up before the Great Lakes Valley Conference championships next week.
Fatka fired rounds of 87 and 84 to finish solo eighth out of the 45 players competing on nine teams. Hunt tied for 10th with rounds of 88 and 86.
Emily Ducaji moved up three spots between the rounds with scores 90 and 86 and was 15th overall.
Sydney Young finished in a tie for 20th (88-94) and Katie Gastrau placed 24th (95-92).
Southern Indiana won the team title with a two day total of 652, followed by William Woods (671) and the Bulldogs. Truman was 21 shots clear of fourth place Purdue-Northwest and 34 shots ahead of host Quincy. Central Methodist (739), Southwest Baptist (760), Culver-Stockton (791) and Missouri Valley (842) rounded out the field.
Truman will join their GLVC counterparts at the league's championship meet in Fishers, Indiana at the Hawthorns Golf and Country Club. The tournament will run from April 23 through the 25th.
