SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Truman Women's Soccer team has qualified for their 10th straight conference postseason tournament with a 1-0 win over Drury in the spring regular season finale on Friday night.
Off a corner kick, Johanna Wallstab fed Paige Peterson for the lone tally of the game in the 39th minute. It was the second goal of the year for Peterson and fourth assist for Wallstab.
The Bulldogs had to play a fielder short for the final 10 minutes of the game and Drury nearly tied the game when Natalie Beck hit the crossbar with three minutes remaining.
The Panthers had another shot off a free kick that sailed right.
Beth Hopwood stopped the other two Drury shots that were directed on goal.
Truman will be the seventh seed in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament that will begin Monday. The Bulldogs will draw second-seed Indianapolis with match time to be determined later this weekend.
The Greyhounds scored three first half goals and held off a Bulldog charge in the second 3-2 back on March 19. Since that loss, Truman is 5-1 and have outscored their opponents 11-2 during those games.
