ST. CHARLES, Mo.--The Truman Volleyball team dropped a crucial match Friday night as they fight for a spot in the GLVC tournament later this month, falling 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-18) at Lindenwood.

Down 6-4 early in the first set, the Bulldogs seized momentum with a 5-0 run to go up by three. Allison Beaton started the surge with a kill, followed by a kill from Morgan Smith, later an ace from Sam Yancy and then Emma Berrthold concluded the run with one of her team high eight kills. However, later in the set the Bulldogs led 15-13 and the Lions reeled off five straight and would hold the lead the rest of the set.

The second set seesawed back and forth early on, but the Lions took control with a 4-0 run up 11-10 to lead by five points. Later a kill from Beaton would bring Truman within three at 16-13, but five straight from the Lions would put the set out of reach.

Lindenwood jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the third set and would not relinquish control of the set and took the match 3-0.

Truman will be back in action tomorrow afternoon with a 3:00 match at Quincy.
