INDIANAPOLIS—The Truman Volleyball team had won three straight meetings with the Indianapolis Greyhounds heading into Thursday's matchup in Indiana's capital. But Greyhounds ended the Bulldogs' streak at three straight wins with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-16) victory Thursday evening. Ellie Kaat led the way with nine kills for Truman while Allison Beaton and Morgan Smith each had eight.

UIndy took the first three points of the first set, Truman answered with the next three, and then UIndy got the next three. Truman got the next two to make it 6-5, but UIndy got the next point to hold the lead at 7-5. From there UIndy would not be caught the rest of the set.

Truman hit almost 30% on offense in the second set, but it was still not enough as the Greyhounds took the set by five points. Down 4-1 early, Truman rallied to tie the set at four with kills from Kaat and Beaton as well as an ace from Ainsley Heise. Later a 4-0 run gave the Bulldogs a 9-6 lead, started by another kill from Beaton. Truman led most of the set but a 4-0 for UIndy gave them an 18-16 lead and they would take the set from there.

The third set was tight early on, with teams seesawing back and forth. But after a ball handling error from UIndy tied the set at eight, the Greyhounds took the lead and Truman could not catch back up.

Truman will be back in action next Tuesday as they take on Missouri Western in St. Joseph at 6 PM.
