Truman & Missouri S&T Play To Scoreless Tie

ROLLA, Mo. – The Truman Women's Soccer team played to their first scoreless tie on Sunday as they drew with Missouri S&T 0-0. The Bulldogs are now 2-2-1 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play.

Beth Hopwood made four saves, all in regulation time, to earn second straight shutout. She has 22.5 shutouts for her career and is not poised to take over sixth place on the Truman career shutout list with her next one, as she will pass Jayne Grisham (2008-11).

The Bulldogs peppered 19 total shots and seven on goal in the 110 minutes of action. All three shots in the second overtime were on net and needed to be stopped by S&T keeper Kristin Steins. Sydni Beeley had the first shot that was low to the right and a second one five minutes later that was low center. Faith Branson also had a bid for the winner with just under two minutes left to play.

Hopwood's last save came in the final minute on an attempt by Ashley Haag.

Truman will spend next weekend in St. Louis facing Missouri-St. Louis on Friday evening at 5 p.m. and Lindenwood on Sunday at noon.
