Schrader Earns His Second Offensive Player Of The Week Award From GLVC

INDIANAPOLIS – Cody Schrader has been selected for the second time this season as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Schrader gained 164 yards on 32 carries and scored the winning touchdown, capping an 18-point rally, with 26 seconds left to play in the Bulldogs thrilling 38-35 win over #12 Tiffin (Ohio) on Saturday.

Schrader averaged 5.1 yards per attempt while also catching three passes for 10 yards. He scored on a 21-yard run in the third quarter that began the comeback after Truman was trailing 35-17.

The Bulldog offense outgained Tiffin 225-91 in the second half and held onto the ball 22 out of the possible 30 minutes in completing their largest come from behind victory since overcoming a 17-point deficit in 2015 against St. Francis (Ill.).

Other offensive highlights from Saturday's comeback was Nolan Hair engineering both 2-minute drill scoring drives at the end of each half. The first half was a six-play drive that got Josh Scheiderer in place for a 46-yard field goal and the winning drive had Hair finding Dante Ruffin and Matt Hall on two fourth down conversions before the Schrader touchdown.

Schrader leads the GLVC running backs in yards per game at 158.5 and is averaging 6.1 yards per touch.  He was the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season when he gained 217 yards in Truman's win over Davenport (Mich.) in week one.

Truman will welcome the 2019 GLVC Champion, Lindenwood Lions to Stokes Stadium for Family Night this Saturday. More information regarding that matchup will be posted later in the week.
