ROLLA, Mo.—The Truman Men's Swimming team took on Missouri S&T Friday night in their first action of the new year, falling to the Miners 138-53. In total there were 11 events—the 200 medley relay, the 1000 yard freestyle, 200 freestyle, 50 freestyle, 200 IM, 200 butterfly, 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 500 freestyle, 200 breaststroke and 400 freestyle relay.
John Breen finished first in the 100 breaststroke with a finals time of 2:03.00, beating his seed time by over ten seconds to earn the Bulldogs nine points. He also finished fourth in the 500 freestyle to earn two more points for Truman. Furthermore, A.J. Kohler took third place in the 100 and 200 yard freestyle races to grab six points for the Bulldogs.
In the last event of the competition the Bulldogs got 15 points from the first and second place teams of Jacob Pocivasek, Kohler, Jack McKenzie and Grant Lair finishing first and Daniel Fink, Jax Mahlstadt, Adam Vaske and Noah May in second place. Individually, Mahlstadt finished third in the 200 IM and fourth in the 200 fly to earn five points for Truman.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday, January 22nd as they head to William Jewell for a dual—this dual was delayed from this weekend due to travel issues for the Cardinals. Next weekend's action will feature both the men's and women's teams.
