LOUISVILLE – The Truman Cross Country teams competed in one of the largest events in the Midwest on Saturday as the Bulldogs took to Louisville, Kentucky for the Louisville Classic.
 
The event was held at a past national championship course for Division I Cross Country at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park and featured three separate (Blue, Gold, Silver) divisions with over 120 men's and women's collegiate programs represented with upwards of 2,300 individual runners.
 
The Truman State women scored 606 points in the 5K Blue Division race good for 21^st out of 47 teams.  Freshman Breanna Mathes was the Bulldogs top finisher with a time of 19:02.6 and crossed the finish line in 85^th position. Cora Stimpson was next at 19:20.5 and in 117^th place. Kate Yates was third on the team in 134^th with a time of 19:28.6, Addie Mathis was next in 144^th timing 19:32.3, Lexy Hendrikson finished in 19:33.4, good for 147^th.
 
Other Bulldog women running in the event were Kati Schoeneberg (204^th/20:007), Reese Howard (225^th/20:11.1), McKenna Ledgerwood (233^rd/20:14.2), Emma Schultz (234^th/20:14.6) and Molly Bies (348^th/21:18.1).
 
There were 419 runners with a mix of Division I, II, III along with NAIA programs in the Blue Division race.
 
The Bulldog men were 36^th out of 45 teams in their 8K race with 896 points scored. The top five for Truman were Nathan Key (93^rd/25:37.2), Andrew Henton (163^rd/26:08.7), Evan AuBuchon (205^th/26:28.0), Jacob Gutzman (234^th/26:41.6) and Ryan Harness (258^th/26:53.7).
 
Max Fuller (323^rd/27:40.4), Sam Kallaos (332/27:49.6), Brett Griesbaum (380^th/29:11.5) and Joe Armour (402^nd/30:53.9) rounded out the Bulldog contingent.
 
The teams return to action on Friday evening at the XC Border War hosted by Principia (Ill.) College near St. Louis.
