DES MOINES - The Truman women's tennis team closed out their fall season with a dramatic 4-3 win over Grand View (Iowa) on Tuesday afternoon.
The dual hinged on the number two singles match featuring Grand Views Kanishka Gowthaman and Truman's Akansha Negi. After dropping the first set 6-3, Negi stormed back to force a super tie break with a 7-5 victory in set two. The two battled back-and-forth in the tie break when Negi won the final two points to claim the match and the dual for the Bulldogs 12-10.
Sydney Dial and Abbi Worster earned the doubles point for the Bulldogs with a 6-1 win at number two, while Samantha Seggerman and Julia Fangman won be default for the second doubles win.
In other singles, Julia Fangman defeated Paige Adams 7-5, 6-2 at number four and Dial won by default at number six.
Allie Brown was forced into a tie break at number one singles as was Kennidy Shirey at number five.
The Bulldogs wrapped up their fall with a 4-2 dual record and will be off until February.
