RESULTS

BOLIVAR, Mo. -  The Truman State women's cross country team placed second and the men fifth at the final tune-up before conference in two weeks. Breanna Mathes led the Bulldogs with an eighth place individual finish.

Mathes completed the five-kilometer course in 19:30.85 and was the eighth individual to cross the finish line. Kate Yates was next in 10th position with a time of 19:36.67. Addie Mathis and Cora Stimpson followed with Mathis crossing in 19:44.05, good for 12th and Stimpson in 19:47.44 and 13th place.

Kati Schoeneberg was the final Bulldog scorer with a 25th place finish in a time of 20:18.57. Other Truman runners were Reese Howard in 31st (20:31.82), Lydia Lehmbeck in 48th (21:22.41), Molly Bies in 57th (22:40.46) and McKenna Ledgerwood in 63rd (23:05.60).

The Bulldogs finished 35 points behind host Southwest Baptist for the team title but in front of the three other GLVC schools that competed in the open. Missouri S&T was fourth, Rockhurst seventh and William Jewell 10th. The Bulldogs were also in front of Washburn by 14 points and the University of Central Missouri out of the MIAA.

The Truman State men finished in a solid fifth position as a team with 106 points, 30 behind fourth place Central Missouri and 84 ahead of Evangel. They also finished in front of Rockhurst and William Jewell out of the GLVC but behind Missouri S&T and Southwest Baptist.

Evan AuBuchon led the way in the 8K race as all five Truman State scorers finished in the 27th minute of the race. AuBuchon crossed in 27:08.9 and placed 16th. He was followed by Jacob Gutzman at 27:12.09 (18th), Nathan Key in 27:20.89 (25th), Andrew Henton in 27:38.47 (31st) and Ryan Harness in 27:44.31 (34th).

Other Truman men finishers were Sam Kallaos (55th/28:42.07), Brett Griesbaum (77th/29:56.96), Max Fuller (79th/30:03.67), Josh Engle (81st/30:31.63) and Joe Armour (103rd/33:53.08).

The teams will compete in the GLVC Championships on November 5th in Elsah, Illinois with the meet hosted by McKendree University.
