KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Bulldogs basketball had a huge comeback to defeat Upper Iowa 91-78 in the 2022 home opener.
Down by 13 with 7:00 left in the first half, Truman rallied behind leading scorer Elijah Hazekamp, senior Hunter Strait, and sophomore Brandon Kracht.
The Bulldogs and Peacocks had similar shooting numbers in the first half, with Truman shooting 16-33 and Upper Iowa going 18-31. The second half was a different story, with Truman making 17 shots on 30 attempts and Upper Iowa making only 10 shots on 27 attempts.
Hazekamp recorded a double-double with 23 points on 9-18 shooting, 13 rebounds, and three assists.
Straight nearly had a double-double of his own, with 19 points and seven assists in the contest.
Kracht was an efficient 5-6 shooting, and 4-5 from three, totaling 15 points.
The Bulldogs are back in action at Southwest Minnesota State University on Saturday, November 19, at noon.
