WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University defeated Truman State 102-57 in the Bulldogs' final exhibition game of the season.
The Bulldogs were up 17-16 with 13:28 left in the first half off buckets from Elijah Hazekamp, Hunter Strait, Dylan Peeters, and Trey Shearer. The Boilermakers took the lead and ended the half with a 22-point advantage. Hazekamp led Truman in first half scoring with nine points, Trey Shearer had seven.
Purdue started the second half with 10-straight points from Zach Edey and Mason Gillis before Hunter Strait hit two free throws to get the scoring started for Truman.
Strait was Truman's leading scorer in the second half with seven, going 5-6 on free throws and hitting a field goal.
Elijah Hazekamp had a team-high 11 points in the game, followed by Hunter Strait with 10, Keaton Mitchell with nine, and Trey Shearer with seven.
Purdue big man Zach Edey led the Boilermakers with 23 points. Four other Purdue players recorded double-digit points.
Truman Men's basketball is back in action Friday, November 11, at 7:45 p.m. (ET) against Cedarville in the GLVC/G-MAC Challenge in Cedarville, Ohio.
