RESULTS

DAVENPORT, Iowa - Jacob Morris kicked off his indoor track and field season by hitting an NCAA provisional mark in the weight throw and the women's 4x400 relay team won gold in the Frigid Bee Opener for Truman State Track & Field on Saturday.

Morris' fourth attempt of the event flew 19.23m and was good for first place in the event. Teammate Leithym Messer was sixth with a distance of 14.90m.  Morris was third in the Shot Put (15.66m).

Kelly Hoskins took the bronze in the triple jump with a mark of 12.27m and tied for sixth in the pole vault (3.66m)

Other men top finishers were Jake Higgs with a sixth in the 600m run (1:36.28) and a seventh in the high jump (1.70m) and Cooper Doolin with a sixth in the 200m dash (23.50).

Sophie Oxandale, Kendall Dasher, Raina Baker and Alayna Pipkin closed the meet by grabbing the gold in the 4x400 relay. The squad ran 4:01.04 to edge out the host St. Ambrose (Iowa) by just over one second. Oxandale led the group with a second place finish in the 300m dash with a time of 42.86, followed by Baker in third (43.24), Pipkin in fourth (43.44) and Dasher in fifth (43.93).

Kirsten Poole claimed the silver in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.80 and was followed by Cassidy Board in fourth position (9.91). Addison Walker was third in the long jump (5.02m). Destiny Zimdars placed sixth (11.17m) and Natalie Telep seventh (10.80m) in the shot put.

The Bulldogs will compete one more time before the holiday break at next week's Central College Dutch Preview in Pella, Iowa.
