Truman State Men's basketball hosts NAIA opponent Culver-Stockton College (Mo.) from the Heart of America Conference after a short Christmas break. The Bulldogs went into the break with a 89-68 win against Grand View on 12/19/22. The Bulldogs are 5-7 on the year, and 1-4 in GLVC play. Truman picked up their lone conference win against SBU, defeating the Bearcats 73-63 in Bolivar.
Against Culver-Stockton:
Culver-Stockton is 6-6, with two wins and five losses in conference play. They have wins against Hannibal-LaGrange (two), Columbia College, East-West University, Park University, and Baker University. Their wins against Park and Baker are their two wins so far in Heart of America play. The Wildcats of Culver-Stockton are led by four players who average more than 10 points per game. Robert Fry II leads the way with 14.8 per game, followed by CaRondis Harris-Anderson with 12.8, Jalen Blaize with 11.1, and Javon Modester with 10.7.
Fry, a sophomore, is tied with Modester in assists per game with 2.7, and records 1.2 steals a game as well.
Culver-Stockton is led by head coach Aaron Hill, who is in his fifth season in Canton. Hill is 46-73 with the Wildcats, and is coming off a 14-14 season in 2021-22.

Truman State Men's basketball took care of business against Grand View University, winning 89-68 on Monday, December 19th.
It was a tightly-contested first half, with Grand View being up 18-16 with 12:15 left before the break. Truman closed out the half with a nine-point advantage, up 44-35.
The Bulldogs pulled away in the second half, going up 20 points with 7:56 left in the contest. Truman had a great night shooting, going 34-56 from the field (60.7%), and 14-25 (56%) from three. Truman held Grand View to 40.9% shooting and 33.3% from three.
Four Bulldogs recorded double-digit points, with Elijah Hazekamp leading with 19 points, along with five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Dylan Peeters had 12 points, four rebounds, and a steal. Nduka Ogwu had his second double-digit game of the season, scoring 11 with four rebounds. Xavier Hall dropped 10 points and a team-high sevens assists. Eight other Bulldogs scored, with Trey Shearer nearly reaching double-digits, scoring nine in the game.
Elijah Hazekamp leads Truman in scoring, averaging 14.5 points per game, tied with SBU's Quinn Nelson. Hazekamp is third in the conference in rebounding, averaging 7.8 a game.Â
Xavier Hall averages 3.27 assists per game, which is 10th most among GLVC players.
Coach Jeff Horner is one win shy of tying former Bulldog head coach Chris Foster in career wins, with Horner reaching the 82-win mark against Grand View.
The Bulldogs resume GLVC play against Quincy on Thursday, January 5th, at 7:30 p.m. in Pershing Arena.
