ELKHART, Ind.—The Truman Swimming teams completed their weekend at the GLVC Championships with one more B cut: Emma Brabham in the 100 freestyle. The women maintained their fifth place Saturday and finished with a total of 642 points while the men finished ninth with 364 points.
In the first event of the day, Brabham earned a B cut in the 100 free with a finals time of 51.99, finishing in 15th place. She was followed directly by Emily Traube in 16th place with a finals time of 52.18 and Lexi Poe also beat her seed time of 52.81 with a finals time of 52.51. In the 200 back, both Natalie Nguyen, Kylie Strobl and Emma Harris beat their seed times, Nguyen with a finals time of 2:07.43 (under her seed time of 2:07.82), Strobl at 2:07.91 (2:08.41) and Harris at 2:08.85 (2:09.60). Nguyen finished 15th, Strobl 16th and Harris 19th. Christina Jurotich beat her seed time of 2:27.80 in the 200 breaststroke with a finals time of 2:26.64.
For the men, John Breen beat his seed time in the 200 breaststroke as well with a finals time of 2:01.23, .34 seconds under his seed time. Jax Mahlstadt also beat his seed time in the event, with a finals time of 2:08.60 (2:09.23).
To wrap up the event, coach Jerod Simek said, "As we brought the 2022 in season to a close the Dogs definitely brought the energy! We really got behind each other this morning and tonight leading to some personal bests, more B cuts, and sending our seniors out on a high note! Looking forward to some post season action in a month in Greensboro!"
It is still to be announced who will be competing at the NCAA Nationals in Greensboro, N.C. next month. With the B cuts earned all week, it is almost guaranteed there will be Bulldogs competing at Nationals.
