KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The scoreboard at the Truman Softball field looked more like a tote board for an annual telethon than a college softball game as McKendree (Ill.) University and the Truman State Bulldogs combine for 52 runs on 52 hits in a GLVC doubleheader on Sunday. The Bearcats escaped game one with a 15-13 win in eight innings while Truman held off McKendree 15-9 in the nightcap.
Brieanna Klein ended the afternoon with four hits, a grand slam and drove in eight runs while
Kayla Quanstrum hit three home runs in the two games with six runs driven in. McKendree's Olivia Stansbury won the home run derby with four roundtrippers and finished with eight RBIs in the two games.
The Bulldogs return to action next weekend on the road at Lewis University in Romeoville and at the University of Indianapolis.
