#5 Indianapolis Bests Truman Softball On Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS – The #5-ranked Indianapolis Greyhounds took a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference softball games from the Truman State Bulldogs on Sunday by scores of 9-0 and 15-1. The Bulldogs will begin a 10-game homestand starting on Saturday when they host Quincy University.
 
Game 1: Indianapolis 9, Truman State 0
The Greyhounds took made the Bulldogs pay for a wild pitch and an error in the second inning as they scored three times to take the early lead. They would score six times in the third inning on four hits and a second Truman error to go up 9-0. 

That would be the final as has the Bulldogs managed three hits, one each by Emma Walbert, Maria McGonegle and Sydney Parkerson
 
Game 2: Indianapolis 15, Truman State 1
The second game started promising as Emma Walbert had a bunt single and Brieanna Klein notched a single to center. Ellie Weltha drew a walk to load the bases but they were left stranded on a strikeout.

The Greyhounds sent 16 hitters to the plate in the bottom of the inning and scored 11 runs on six hits. The biggest blow was a grand slam by Lexy Rees.

UINDY added three in the second and a single run in the third.

Truman got on the scoreboard in the fifth when Cameryn Patterson led off with a walk, Ellie Weltha singled and Sydney Parkerson doubled to left center.
