KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Women's Tennis team downed Central (Iowa) 8-1 in a non-conference dual on Wednesday afternoon at the Bulldog Tennis Courts.
 
In doubles play, Allie Brown and Akansha Negi picked up an 8-2 win at number one followed by a victory of 8-1 from Julia Fangman and Samantha Seggerman at the two spot. Kennidy Shirey and Calli Hepfinger fell just short in the sweep as they dropped number three 8-6.
 
Singles action was all Bulldogs with six, straight-set wins. In addition to Brown, Negi, Fangman and Seggerman all winning, Sydney Dial picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at number five and Abbi Worster won 6-3, 6-0 at number six.
 
The Bulldogs will host the Truman Invitational this weekend in Kirksville. The format will be similar to the Quincy Invite in which a round-robin singles and doubles bracket will be seeded based on position.
