Truman Tennis Hosts Invitational On Saturday

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Tennis team hosted Coe (Iowa) College and Quincy (Ill.) University on Saturday for an invitational tournament. The Bulldogs Sydney Dial and Calli Hepfinger both won two matches on the day in singles for Truman State.
 
Dial was a 6-0, 6-3 winner in the #6 singles flight over Maria Bello Escobar (Coe) and a 6-2, 5-7, 10-5 victor over Quincy's Paula Martinez.
 
Hepfinger took a 6-2, 6-0 win at #8 singles over Gianna Akins (Coe) and a 7-5, 6-4 win over Nora Hennessy of Quincy.
 
The Bulldogs went 6-2 against opponents from Coe on the day in singles action, while Quincy's players went 14-2 against both Truman and Coe.
 
In doubles, all four Truman teams defeated their Coe counterparts.
 
Truman returns to action on October 7th against Missouri Western in St. Joseph.
