KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Rockhurst shot lights-out as they defeated Truman State 88-71 on Saturday afternoon.
Truman's last lead of the game was at the 3:47 mark of the first half, where they were leading 24-23. Rockhurst took the lead after a Davit Kakushadze dunk and never looked back. Truman went into the half down 38-26.
Rockhurst outscored Truman 50-45 in the second half to win the game by 17.
The Hawks were led by two dominant performances by Timaris Brown and Jake Auer. Brown had 30 points, 16 rebounds, and two assists. Auer put up 25 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
The Bulldogs had four double-digit scorers, led by Dylan Peeters with 14. Trey Shearer and Brandon Kracht had 12 each, and Elijah Hazekamp had 11 points.
Hunter Strait was officially recognized pregame for joining the 1000-point club and becoming Truman State's career leader in total games played.
Truman plays Southwest Baptist next on Monday, January 16th, at 3 p.m.
