LIBERTY, Mo. - Truman State volleyball went down 2-0 to William Jewell before tying it up, but fell in the fifth set to take a loss to the Cardinals.
William Jewell won the first two sets 25-17 and 25-12 but the Bulldogs fought back to take the next two 25-23 and 25-21.
The fifth set was back and forth, with each team taking leads throughout. Truman had a three-point lead which was the largest in the set. The score was tied 15-15 before William Jewell was able to take the victory 18-16.
Hanna Berry was great on offense with 21 kills and a .326 attack percentage. She also had two block assists and three digs.
Jessica Proszenyak, Allison Beaton, and Jessie Julius all had double-digit kills. Proszenyak and Julius both had service aces.
Proszenyak also led Truman in digs with 16, followed by Lexi Arnel and Emma Baierl with 14 each. Jessie Julius also had 12 digs.
Baierl and Tori Creason had 32 and 21 assists which led the Bulldogs.
Truman State returns to action at home against McKendree on Saturday, October 28th at 6 p.m.
