Defenses Pitch Shutouts In Home Finale

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Two defenses limited scoring chances as the Truman State women's soccer team and the Indianapolis Greyhounds played to a scoreless draw on Sunday afternoon in the regular season home finale for the Bulldogs. Truman will play at Maryville on Friday afternoon and Missouri S&T on Sunday.

Both teams picked up one point in the GLVC standings but are still on the outside looking in for a spot in the league's eight-team postseason tournament.

Shots were 8-6 in favor of the Greyhounds and 3-2 in shots on goal also in favor of UINDY.

The best chance of the game came off the foot of Anna Capellari with 11 minutes left in the first half. Capellari drilled a shot that caught the junction of the crossbar and post in the top right corner.

UINDY's best chance occurred with only two minutes left to play as Sarah Wegner tried to deflect a ball past Tatum Damron, who was able to secure it for the save.

It was the sixth clean sheet for Damron this season.
