DES MOINES – Morningside (Iowa) College defeated the Truman Women's Tennis team 6-1 in the final fall match of the season. The Bulldogs conclude this portion with a 4-4 dual record.
The Bulldogs were again playing shorthanded due to injury and were open at number three doubles and number six singles.
The two doubles matches came down to the wire for the first team point.
Sydney Dial and
Calli Hepfinger got a break point and defeated their Mustang opponents by a 6-4 score however the same thing occurred at the number one spot only fell Morningside's way.
Akansha Negi and
Abbi Worster were downed by the same 6-4 score.
It was Dial that picked up the lone singles point at the number two slot. Dial won 6-2, 6-4 over Jil Hellerforth. Dial went 7-1 in dual singles matches this fall with a 6-0 mark at number three and 1-1 at the number two spot.
The Bulldogs will begin off season workouts and pick the season back up in February.
