Men's Soccer Pitches 2-0 Shutout Over William Jewell

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Truman Men's Soccer team scored a goal in each half to down William Jewell 2-0 on Sunday to pick up their fourth Great Lakes Valley Conference victory of the season.

Luke Payne converted on an awarded penalty in the 19th minute to stake the 'Dogs up 1-0. It was his fourth goal of the year. 

In the second half, the Bulldogs went on a quick counter attack with Corbin Clay, Zachary Painter and Jon Buss closing down on one Cardinal defender and the keeper. It was Clay that buried the ball into the net for his third goal of the season. 

The Bulldog defense was able to lock down the Cardinals as Justin Olweg made three saves to preserve the shutout. 

Truman will head to McKendree and Missouri-St. Louis next weekend.
