QUINCY, Ill. - Four players scored in double figures led by Ellie Weltha's 18 points and 14 rebounds as the Truman Women's Basketball team earned an 85-68 victory over Cedarville (Ohio) on Saturday evening.
Seven Truman players scored in the first quarter but the game was tied at 17 after the first 10 minutes.
The Bulldogs were able to take a three point lead into the locker room at 39-36 and never trailed again.
Truman State extended their lead out to eight at the end of three and scored the first four points of the fourth to finally take a double-digit advantage. The Bulldogs outscored the Yellow Jackets 21-12 in that final stanza.
Weltha was 7-of-9 from the field and had 13 of her 14 rebounds on the defensive end and added a pair of blocks. Bailey Kliewer scored 15 points and also nocked a double-double with 10 boards. Ainsley Tolson added 14 with eight assists and Claire Rake scored 11.
The Bulldogs will open up their home slate of games by hosting Winona (Minn.) State at 5 p.m. in Pershing Arena on Friday.
