Drake Defeats Truman State In Exhibition

DES MOINES, Iowa - Truman State Men's basketball played their first game of the season in an exhibition contest at Division I Drake University. The Bulldogs of Truman State fell 95-50.

Truman got on the board first with a Landon Eiland three before Drake rattled off 12 straight to go up by nine.

With 6 minutes left in the first-half, Truman cut Drake's lead to four with an Xavier Hall jumper, but that was the closest Truman got the rest of the night.

Drake went on to win by 45, and was led in scoring by NBA prospect Tucker DeVries with 19. Two other Drake players had double-digit points.

Xavier Hall was the lone Truman State player with over 10 points with 12. Hall also had three rebounds, four assists, and one steal in the game.

Trey Shearer, Kobi Williams, and Blaise Porter each had nine points. Casen Lawrence, Landon Eiland, and Joe Knutson also scored points.

As a team, Truman shot 32.7% from the field, 34.5% from three, and were 6-8 on free throws.

Truman begins regular season play in the GLVC/G-Mac Challenge at home against the University of Findlay on November 10th at 6:15 p.m.
