EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Great Lakes Valley Conference Swimming & Diving Championships came to a close on Saturday night and freshman Adelaide Reaser picked up her third bronze medal of the event.
Reaser swam a B-cut time of 16:59.01 to finish third in the championships longest event, the 1650-meter free swim. She also previously finished third in the 400 IM and the 500 free.Ā
Emily Traube earned a spot in the A-final of the 100 free and finished eighth after swimming 51.68. She improved on her B-cut time in the prelim round by going 51.58.
Traube swam the opening leg of the 400 free relay with Meg Heveroh, Natalie Nguyen and Kaitlyn McDaniel that finished sixth.Ā
Kyle Strobl and Emma Harris advanced to the B-final of the 200 back, Stroble finished 11th and Harris 16th. In the 200 breast, Chloe Myers won the C-finale with a time of 2:26.54 and Sidney Durbin swam in the B-final and placed 15th with a time of 2:26.89.
AJ Kohler and Jax Mahlstadt qualified for the C-finals in their respective events on the day. Kohler placed 19th overall with a time of 45.48 in the 100 free and Mahlstadt swam 2:08.37Ā to finish 23rd in the 200 breast.
Both of them, along with Jacob Pocivasek and Adam Vaske, closed the championships with a ninth in the 400 free relay.
Both Truman teams scored more points in this year's championship than the year before. The women tallied 767 points to finish sixth and the men scored 365.5 to finish ninth. Drury University won the men's title and the University of Indianapolis took the women's crown.
The Bulldogs will await word on NCAA Championship qualifiers for next month's national championship meet in Indianapolis on March 8-11.
