KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Truman State Men's basketball played at Rockhurst, where the Hawks defeated the Bulldogs in overtime 91-82.
Truman finished the first half with a 43-37 lead, with Elijah Hazekamp leading both teams in scoring with 13. The Bulldogs shot 15-31 (48.39%) and 6-17 (35.29%) from behind the arc. Rockhurst had a similar first half shooting, going 12-27 from the field and 4-12 from three.
Rockhurst outscored Truman 39-33 in the second half to take the game into overtime, with Hunter Strait scoring 14 and Trey Shearer scoring 10. Rockhurst's Rich Byhre, the top scorer in the GLVC, exploded for 22 points.
In overtime, Rockhurst outscored Truman 15-6, with Dylan Peeters scoring four points and Xavier Hall with two.
Hunter Strait, Trey Shearer, and Elijah Hazekamp finished with double-digit points. Strait ended the night with 20, Shearer dropped 16, and Hazekamp was right behind with 15.
Truman plays their final game of the 2022-23 regular season on Saturday, February 25th, at William Jewell.
