KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Truman Tennis team made a successful trip to Omaha, Nebraska and Des Moines, Iowa over the weekend with a pair of 4-3 victories. The Bulldogs sit at 6-4 this season and will play Principia (Ill.) and Missouri Baptist in St. Louis on Saturday.

Saturday saw the Bulldogs take on the Flames of the College of St. Mary's in Omaha.

Allie Brown and Abbi Worster won at number two doubles 6-3 but the battle occurred at number one as Julia Fangman and Samantha Seggerman pushed the Flames top duo to a tie breaker before falling 7-6 (7-4) to give St. Mary's the doubles point.

The Bulldogs would win four singles points to take the match. Seggerman won at number two 6-4, 6-1, Fangman took number three 6-3, 6-2, Sydney Dial cruised at number five 6-1, 6-0 and Worster claimed the final point at number six with a 6-1, 6-3 win.

On Sunday the show moved east for a rematch with Grand View University where the Bulldogs earlier picked up a 4-3 win in the fall. Another tight match that hinged on the six singles matches.

The Bulldogs went down 1-0 after losing two of the three doubles bouts. Dial and Callie Hepfinger got the W for Truman at number three 6-4.

Allie Brown dropped her first set at number one but stormed back to win the second set 6-3 and then went into an extended tiebreaker before falling 12-10.

Three through six proved pivotal for the Bulldogs as Fangman, Kennedy Shirey, Dial and Worster all claimed straight set wins.
