WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The Truman State Golf team backed up on day two and finished in seventh place out of a field of 14 schools at the Midwest Intercollegiate at Mules National Golf Club on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs were in fourth place following a first round score of 330 and Warrensburg native Natalie Fatka was one-shot off the lead after an opening round 76.Â
Weather forced a two-hour delay to start round two and wind and rain played havoc with the golfers in their final 18 holes.Â
Fatka shot 83 to finish in a tie for 13th position and was matched on the scorecard by Reese Stovall. She shot identical 83s to finish in a tie for 28th. Kara Hunt shot a pair of 85s to tie for 37th, Catherine Salem went 86-90 for a tie for 55th and Jordan Marshall shot 86-91 for a tie for 58th.
The Bulldogs second day total was 341 and two-round score of 671 placing seven shots ahead of GLVC member Rockhurst. Of the five current GLVC schools and two future league opponents in the field, the Bulldogs were second behind fourth-place Drury University.
The team will next compete April 2-4 at the Culver-Stockton Wildcat Classic that will be held in Quincy, Illinois.Â
