INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Truman State softball lost both games of their doubleheader to 31-3 UIndy 18-3 and 12-4.
Game One:
UIndy jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first, and the Bulldogs were unable to recover.
Macy Taylor recorded one of Truman's four hits in the game in the second inning, resulting in two runs scoring.
In the fourth, Macy Taylor stole second, which led to McKenzie West scoring on a wild throw.
McKenzie West went 2-2 with two runs.
Callie Unrein and Macy Taylor had Truman's other two hits.
Game Two:
The second game was tied going into the third inning before the Greyhounds broke through and took home the win.
UIndy went up 1-0 in the first off a sacrifice fly, and Maria McGonegle tied it up when she scored McKenzie West on a groundout in the second.
The Greyhounds scored two more in the bottom of the second before Truman took a 4-3 lead in the third. Alex Beard hit an RBI double, Breianna Klein hit an RBI single, and Lauren Stade hit another RBI single.
UIndy went on a 9-0 run after that, ending the game in the sixth due to run rule.
Truman plays two more against McKendree tomorrow at noon and 2 p.m.
