LEBANON, Ill. - The Truman Softball team dropped a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference games on Sunday to McKendree by scores of 7-2 and 13-1.
Cameryn Patterson provided the only runs in the first game as her two-run homer in the sixth got the Bulldogs on the board. It was her first home run of the season and pushed her RBI total to 21. Callie Unrein and Emily Eberwine had the only other hits for Truman State as they were stymied at the plate with 12 strikeouts.
McKendree cleared the bases on an error during a four-run third inning and added single runs in each the fourth, fifth and sixth innings en route to the win.
Game two saw the Bearcats jump out to a 4-0 lead after one. They broke things open in the second with seven runs and added single runs in the third and fourth innings.
Three of the four Bulldog hits came in the fifth with the final one being a Brooke Nutter RBI single that scored Breianna Klein for the run.
Next on the schedule is a home date with Southwest Baptist on Saturday starting at noon.
