ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Missouri Western State took both games of a doubleheader against Truman State softball on Tuesday with scores of 7-3 and 3-1.
Game One:
Truman State scored first in the first with a Brooke Nutter sacrifice fly that scored Macy Taylor.
Missouri Western scored seven unanswered in the fourth and six inning.
The Bulldogs added two more in the seventh and final inning.
McKenzie West went 3-3 at the plate, and six other Bulldogs recorded hits. Emily Eberwine, Nina Fenasci, and Nutter each had an RBI.
Game Two:
Missouri Western scored twice in the first off a steal of home and an RBI single.
Macy Taylor reached on error that Nina Fenasci in the third to make it 2-1. Western scored their third and final run in the sixth.
Alex Beard and Fenasci had Truman's only two hits.
Breianna Klein threw 5.2 innings, allowing three runs, walking four, and ten hits.
Brooke Nutter threw 0.1 innings, allowing no hits and no runs.
Truman plays Lewis tomorrow at noon and 2 p.m.
