SEARCY, Ark. - A 33-year old school record was toppled and a pair of Bulldogs improved on NCAA provisional marks highlighted the Harding (Ark.) Last Chance meet on Thursday.
Lexy Henrikson was close to capturing the women's 1500-meter run mark prior to today but finally broke the 1990 record of 4:36.54 that was held by Truman State Hall of Fame Kerry Knepper. Henrikson ran 4:35.87 surpassing her previous best of 4:36.68 set out in California in April. Knepper still holds the outdoor 3,000 and 10,000-meter Truman State records.Â
Ellie Weltha set two season best and may have earned a spot in the national shot put event. Weltha had a mark of 14.70 meters, up from 13.97 and climbed currently to 11th position on the Division II performance list. She also had a mark of 46.55 meters in the discus and sits in 21st nationally.
In the javelin throw, Natalie Telep is looking to return to nationals and busted out a season-best throw of 44.60 meters to jump into the 15th position. Telep qualified and competed in the 2021 Division II Championships. Jaylynn Martin had a best throw on Thursday of 39.56 meters.

The Bulldogs will be watching other "Last Chance" meets as this is the final weekend to chase results prior to the selections for the Division II Championships next week. The outdoor meet will be held May 26-28 in Pueblo, Colorado.Â
