IOWA CITY, Iowa - Truman State cross country began their season at the Hawkeye Invitational at the University of Iowa where the Women finished fourth and Men finished fifth.
The Women competed against three Division I schools (Illinois State, Iowa, and Creighton) and the Men competed against the same Division I squads and Indian Hills Community College.
Addie Mathis was Truman's highest Women's finish, placing 23rd out of 55 with a 15:03.10 time.
Kate Yates was right behind Mathis at 25th with a 15:07.00.
Ellie Webb, Cora Simpson, Lexy Henrikson, and Breanna Mathes all placed inside the top 40.
Freshman Gavin Hill was the best Men's runner for the Bulldogs, finishing 26th of 67 with a time of 19:00.90.
Ryan Harness was second best for Truman, placing 39th.
Evan AuBuchon, Trystan Hammer, and Nolan Meara finished top 50.
The cross country teams are back at it on Saturday, September 16th, at the John McNichols Invite at Indiana State University.
