KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Truman State Women's soccer defeated Graceland (Iowa) 2-0 at Stokes Stadium for their first win of the 2023 season.
Truman's Emma Thompson nearly scored in the 6th minute, but her shot hit off the woodwork.
Lia Quintero got the Bulldogs on the board in the 20th minute on a goal assisted by Emma Thompson.
Truman had two more shots in the first-half, none being on goal.
Emma Thompson added the second goal early in the second-half, scoring in the 46th minute, assisted by Olivia Morris.
Gianna Gorman, Quinn Nauman, Aubrey Kaupas, Rachel Homoki, and Abby Hutteger all had shots on goal in the second-half.
Truman had 20 shots, with nine on goal in the game. Graceland recorded six shots with five being on goal.
Tatumn Damron recorded a shutout, saving all five attempts on goal.
Truman State opens up conference play on Sunday, September 17th, at 2:30 p.m. against Upper Iowa University.
