MONTICELLO, Ark. - Truman State volleyball split Saturday's games against Northern State and GLVC foe Maryville in the final day of action in the Blossom Classic Invitational in Monticello, Ark.
Game One: The Bulldogs fell in three sets to Northern state 25-13, 25-13, and 25-14.
Jessica Proszenyak led Truman in kills with nine, followed by Hanna Berry and Allison Beaton with four each.
Tori Creason led in assists with 10 and Emma Baierl was close behind with eight.
Game Two: Truman picked up their third win of the season against GLVC opponent Maryville to close out a successful trip to The Natural State, sweeping the Saints in three sets.
Truman took set one 29-27 in overtime after a battle with Maryville. The Saints were up 24-21 and on the brink of winning the first set when Truman scored four straight points that resulted in a win.
Set two was all Truman winning 25-13 and the third set was close but the Bulldogs came away with a 25-21 victory.
Jessica Proszenyak recorded 10 more kills, and three other Bulldogs had six each.
Baierl led in assists in game two with 18, and Creason was second with 14.
Proszenyak added three aces to her performance, and Jessie Julius had two.
The Bulldogs swept Arkansas Monticello and Christian Brothers on Friday night to start 2-0 before today's games.
Truman volleyball plays next in the Hampton Inn Invitational in Kenosha, Wisconsin hosted by UW Parkside on September 7-September 9.
